 Students

If you are an English speaking new reader and wish to learn more about reading, writing, math or every day life skills, contact  Ingrid at our office.

Ingrid can be contacted by telephone at 905 687- 8299 or by e-mail.

Our program is offered to persons over the age of 18 and you must be out of the Public School system.

Our Literacy Council can help you learn. We have tutors who can work one to one and it is possible to work around your schedule in a meeting place of your choice.

You will be asked to come into the office for an assessment to find out what level of learning you are at. This meeting will take about 2 hours. After the assessment a tutor will be assigned to you.

There is no charge for being tutored. This is a FREE service. You might be asked to pay for the books that you are working in. The average cost is about $15.00 per book.

We also have workshops for our students. These are also FREE and you could learn more about the subjects that interest you.

We have a small group in our offices for any student who wishes a group setting or even for additional help each week.  This group meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm.    It is also FREE.

Niagara Regional Literacy Council does not offer Credit Courses. But we can help you prepare for a G.E.D. test.  For Credit Courses you would have to contact Literacy Link Niagara at 905-937-8887 for a list of places that can help you.

NEW to our program is instruction in Workforce and Workplace literacy.  We can help you with general workforce training or assistance with materials from your current place of work.   Do you need a resume prepared?  Help with a cover letter?  Suggestions on how to apply for a job, fill in an application or even what might be asked at an interview?

If you need help with any of the above, give us a call now.  905 687-8299
