This is an introduction to tutoring and to the method of teaching that we use here at NRLC. It is a 12 hour workshop run over four afternoons or four evenings. There is a one time charge of $30.00. 

Once you have completed the workshop, you will be matched with an adult student who meets the requirements on your data sheet; i.e. times available, geographic location, smoker vs. non smoker, etc.

If you live in the St. Catharines, Welland, or Niagara Falls areas and are interested in becoming a tutor, contact Pat

Membership fees are $15.00 per year.


Next Basic Tutor Workshop Session:

September 13, 15 and 20, 2010

Times:  1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The workshop is held at NRLC offices and attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

Supplemental Workshops

 


Computer Internet and E-Mail classes for tutors. Call to set up an appointment.  We also offer one-on-one computer instruction.

Tutor Development Sessions These workshops are usually 2 to 3 hours in length and cover a variety of subjects that could assist you with your tutoring sessions, or be of a general interest to you. There is no charge for the supplemental workshops.

Meet and Greet with Ingrid

A general discussion group for tutors, to discuss problems, concerns or to share ideas. A casual get together with lots of refreshments and lots of fun.
